The app is the reason permanent lighting is actually permanent. You're not deciding what your house looks like every night — you're deciding once, and then it happens automatically. Here's what that looks like on your phone.
Pick a color. Or twenty.
Tap a swatch or dial in any custom shade, then choose how many colors run at once across your roofline. Sliders at the bottom control brightness and speed independently, so the same colors can read as a soft everyday glow or a full celebration.
Every diode is individually addressable — that's why you can alternate colors bulb by bulb instead of lighting the whole run one shade.
Motion, not just color
Built-in animations give the house something to do: Rainbow, Wave, Snake, Stacking, Pulse, Twinkle, Comet, Rebound, and Fire. Combine one with your colors and set the speed — a slow fade for a dinner party, a fast chase after a touchdown.
Or leave it on Static and let the house sit in one clean color all night. Most people do exactly that most of the year.
Every holiday, already built
The pattern library ships with the calendar done for you — New Year, Valentine's Day, St. Patrick's Day, Mother's Day, Independence Day, Halloween, Christmas and more. Tap one and the house is dressed.
You can edit any of them or build your own from scratch. Tech red for game day takes about thirty seconds to save as a custom pattern.
The part that makes it permanent
Two things live here: calendar events for specific dates, and daily schedules for your everyday look. Set warm white to run dusk to eleven every night, then drop calendar events on Thanksgiving through New Year's, the last week of October, and every home game Saturday.
After that you can genuinely forget the app exists. The house changes on the right day whether you remember or not.
It dances to music
Most people don't know this one until we show them. Rhythm mode makes the lights react in real time to sound — pull from a music player, the phone's mic, or an aux in source.
Put the mic on during a backyard party and the roofline moves with the playlist. It's the single most fun ten seconds of every install walkthrough.

Each area is its own space in the app. Warm white on the roofline while the patio runs color — or group them so everything moves together.
Works away from home
Change colors or shut it all off from the lake, the office, or out of state, as long as the system is on your home Wi-Fi.
Control4 compatible
The Edge controller works with existing Control4 systems through available drivers. The driver doesn't expose every function, so you'll keep the app for deeper customization.
What most people actually do with it
Here's the honest version, from customers a year in: the app gets heavy use for about two weeks after install while you play with it, and then it goes quiet — because you've already built the schedule you want.
A typical setup looks like a soft warm white every night from dusk to eleven, Christmas colors from Thanksgiving through New Year's, orange and purple for the last week of October, red-white-and-blue over the Fourth, and Tech red on home game Saturdays in the fall. All of that gets programmed once. The rest of the year you just enjoy the fact that your house looks good and you never think about it.
The other thing people use it for is the unplanned stuff — pink for a gender reveal, school colors the night of a playoff game, blue for a cause someone in the family cares about. That's a thirty-second job in the app instead of a project.
Setup happens at your install
We pair the system to your Wi-Fi, set up your zones, and walk you through the app before we leave. You'll change your first color while we're still standing in the driveway. If you ever swap routers or change your Wi-Fi password, the system needs to be re-paired — call us and we'll sort it out.

App questions
Do I need the app to use my lights?
You control everything through the Trimlight Edge app, but you don't have to touch it day to day. Most customers build their schedule once — warm white every night, holiday colors on the right dates — and then leave it alone. The lights run themselves.
Does the app work when I'm not home?
Yes. As long as your system is connected to your home Wi-Fi, you can change colors, adjust schedules, or shut everything off from anywhere. Forgot to turn on the July 4th scene before you left for the lake? Two taps.
Can I light different parts of my house differently?
Yes — the app treats areas as separate zones. Your roofline, patio, and pergola can each run their own color and pattern at the same time, or all match. It's set up during your install.
What if I change my Wi-Fi router or password?
The system needs to be re-paired to the new network. It's a quick process, and if you'd rather not fuss with it, call us and we'll walk you through it or come by.
Does it work with smart home systems?
The Edge controller works with existing Control4 systems through available drivers, though the driver doesn't expose every function in the app — you'll still want the app for advanced customization. Ask us about your specific setup.
